Do I have to have a description. I just like to write. OK?

Monday Morning

So its Monday morning and
I have to get back on the
job application bandwagon.

I applied for two jobs last week
and noone called. Even though
I did my follow-up gig.

This whole thing is becoming
a serious downer. I am not
as marketable as I thought I
was.

What I really want to do is go
back to sleep, but I can't do that.

The Halloween Party was a hit.
A huge 25 ft. bonfire, bobbing for
apples, hotdogs, a bluegrass band.
The whole thing. Photogs. The kids
had an absolute blast. Spooky hayride
in the dark woods complete with
chainsaw man jumping out of the woods.

Yesterday, we walked a lake trail and
threw dirt clods into the water and
tried to identify animal tracks. Nobody
believed me when I said there was bear
tracks. I wonder why?

Hurricane Wilma is slamming the west
coast of Florida right now. GREAT.
Next up, south Florida. Tome has
family there. I have good friends there.

I'm glad I moved up here to NC.

Halloween Party

We are going to a Halloween Party
tonight. I transforming into a Flapper.

I got the fringe dress and pearls
and everything.

Daughter is a witch. Husband is
a pirate.

Ate a package of M&M's and a
chicken sandwich and fries at
McDonalds.

Am totally grossed out.

Went to gym and sweated it
out on the elliptical for 1/2 an
hour.

Still am grossed out. I hope I'm
not getting the anorexia nervosa
along with obsessive compulsive
disorder I picked up a few days
ago.

Radio Spot, perhaps?

So, I got this half-baked idea to
write an e-mail to the local NPR
station querying them about an
essay I just finished.

I e-mailed the wrong person, but
believe it or not, he forwarded it to
the right person.

So the producer replied and asked
to see the essay. That would be cool
if I could get it some air time.

I bet they pay like a million dollars
and then I'll never have to work again
cause I wrote 14 minutes worth of copy.

Yeah and I got a bridge for sell.

OCD

I think I just got the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

I'm obsessed with finding a job and worrying about it.

I guess because I have no MONEY I am becoming
a hair puller. I pull and pull and pull. Its a wonder I have
any damned hair left.

I just sent a follow-up e-mail to the HR Director at
the community college. I applied for a position in the
Library..nothing major...I will help the students and
faculty with whatever library needs they may have.
Sounds right up my alley with my love of books
and knowledge.

We will see what happens there. I know. I'm reaching,
but something has got to give here soon.

But wait, let me chew on a couple more fingernails
and pull out a few more strands of hair as I go
bankrupt.

My Laptop Blew Up

I know. I know. I haven't written
in over a month, but the powerpack on
my laptop shorted out and I don't have
access. I bought two new powerpacks (one from
BestBuy that didn't work and one from
Radio Shack that didn't work), but my
laptop is obsolete cause I bought it almost
two years ago, ergo no powerpacks on the
market for the damn thing. I have to go
directly to DELL for a powerpack, but I haven't
so now I am working on desktop.

I bet there was some run on sentences in
there somewhere.

Still on the job quest...I've applied for 15....15..yes 15 jobs...
in the last month...thats 15...and I can't even get an interview.

I believe this online resume/application process is way too limiting.

Or they see WHEN I graduated from college and automatically hit DELETE.

Its not like I am applying for CEO, CFO, or Director of the CDC or Operations
VP at NASA. I apply for a smidgeon above menial like Assistant or Coordinator
or low girl on the totem pole or entry level manager, editor, proofreader.

I follow up and follow up and follow up nicely mind you. I'm not a bitch.
I JUST WANT TO WORK and I didn't spend all that time getting an education
to work at the movie theater.

I guess its me...the common denominator here is ME.

I need to hit the decompress button. I got denied yet another job today.
I put in for a proofreader position and the requirements are 1+ yrs of proofreading experience and a degree in English.

I got the big middle finger...although the ad reads 1+yrs of experience..I got shot down with
the "well, we really want someone with two yrs experience." I have 1 yr 11 mos. experience.

What is up with that?
